Delete your account and data

You can delete your Kundali Chacha account, and the data in it, at any time from inside the app. This page explains how, what goes, and what we have to keep.

In the app (fastest)

  1. Open Kundali Chacha and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy and data, then Delete account.
  3. Read what will go and what is kept. Type DELETE and tick the box.
  4. Tap “Delete my account forever”.

If you have a plan, cancel it first

A UPI AutoPay plan (Android, paid through Cashfree): we also cancel the mandate when the account is deleted, but please cancel it first in My plan (People tab > Plan and questions > Manage) so that nothing can be charged. A plan bought on Google Play or from Apple cannot be cancelled by us: cancel it in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions) or in your Apple ID subscriptions before you delete.

What is erased

  • On your phone, at once: your and your family’s kundalis, saved answers, the memory cache, settings, reminders and widgets.
  • On our servers, at once: your account and phone number, the birth details of you and of the family or friends you added, charts, chats, saved answers, Chacha’s memories, reports, the audio of spoken answers, push tokens, your reports about answers, referral codes and unused free or referral questions.
  • Our server backups clear within 30 days.
  • Whether or not you delete your account, the audio of a spoken answer (Chacha reading an answer aloud) is deleted 7 days after it was made.

What we have to keep

  • Payment, invoice and refund records, for 8 years from the payment (GST and income-tax record rules), then they are deleted. They are anonymised: they no longer carry your name, phone number, kundali or chats.
  • Support and grievance tickets: the ticket number, type, app version and dates, for 2 years after the ticket is closed (a ticket that nobody closed is closed after 365 days), then they are deleted. What you wrote in a ticket is erased when you delete your account, and the ticket is no longer linked to you.
  • The record of your consent, anonymised, for as long as the law requires.
  • A scrambled code of your phone number (made with a secret key; it cannot be turned back into a number and is not linked to your account), so that free questions and referral rewards cannot be collected twice. The referral code is kept for 180 days; the free-question code is kept so that free questions cannot be claimed twice.

Delete only some of your data

  • A person: open the person in the People tab and delete them.
  • Chat history: open History in the Chacha tab and delete all chats.
  • Chacha’s memories: Settings > What Chacha remembers (delete one, or erase all).
  • Consents: Settings > Privacy and data. Switch off sending questions to the AI partner, memory or app-usage data at any time.
  • A copy of your data: Settings > Privacy and data > Export my data.

If you cannot open the app

Reinstall Kundali Chacha, sign in with the same phone number and delete the account as above. If you cannot do that, write to the support email or the Grievance Officer shown on this site with the subject “Delete my account” and the phone number you signed in with. We confirm it is you by sending a code to that number, then delete the account within 30 days.
